this is a permissions posts for mind-reading not that i'll use his mind-reading skills all that often but IT'S HERE
please answer these questions for me!!! :D
1. is it ok for joshua to go snooping around your character's head? it's ok if it isn't! i'm aware that some characters have past mind-reading related trauma, information you as a player don't want joshua to know, or some kind of barrier or resistance to mind-reading, or whatever! please elaborate if you feel the need! (if it's NOT OK go ahead and skip question two!)

just stating this for the annals of history
...it's just that he has memories all the way up to humanity's creation, and they constantly cycle through his brain because he never forgets and is used to thinking on multiple planes. So, if Josh WANTS to get past that headache, it's otherwise pretty much a black hole in there.
He's not a human, after all.

1. I am completely fine with this. In fact, she's a Support user and has been in a Dream World where the whole snooping around in heads and telepathy was common as dirt, Not to mention the canon whispers she hears between her friends' hearts. TLDR, SO USED TO DIS SHITTO. GO FOR IT. :'D
2. If he's ever looking for someone with PTSD, hi. She has a nametag.
a. In addition to canon events, she has memory of meeting a Neku, also fighting alongside him in one hell of a nightmare event called "Friendly Reminder (you can message me about this and I will BABBLE FOR AGES). ...Also kind of angering him because she cast Sleep on him when they were safe because y e a h.
b. She has a fear of failing her friends and eternal separation. She's also been told about her AU2!self who did get saved from the Dark Realm and is intensely and secretly jealous of this counterpart which she may or may not be.
c. Then for the silly option, there's a headcanon story of when she and Terra were younger, she kind of... used Zero Gravity on herself as a retort to Eraqus saying she was grounded for misbehaving.

1) Sure, but she's not gonna like you for it.
2) She has a mix of memories of terrible child soldier/living experiment trauma and Awkward Teenage Girl Feelings. Basically she was raised in a laboratory by assholes trying to make the perfect pilot, and had a few friends there (one of whom is dead). Then she got unceremoniously ditched and is now a Giant Robot Heroine with zero social skills and a crush on the dumbest nerd alive.

1) Nope. She's a Jedi with special training from a Jedi-killer on how to resist mind-reading. Once she starts feeling someone dig in, you'll be getting nothing but arbitrary number sequences and possibly a Jedi trying to do the same back to you.

2) If you've played or watched Persona 4, feel free to infomod from that. Otherwise ask for details if applicable. She's also got a lot of sublimated jealousy (and self-judgement for being jealous) toward Yukiko and Yu's in-game relationship, and saw some freaky shit at Animus.

same rule i described as above applies, only if he does end up in a position where he does read her mind and she tries to reciprocate, she'll get nothing. it'll be like she's bouncing off a steel wall. if he's annoyed enough by her, he'll create an entirely false memory for her to sniff around in, the blatant believability of which he'll determine by how much misinformation he'd want her to believe. he's kind of a trickster though, it's very possible he'll just start giving her very detailed excerpts of the junes saga. :D

I'm going to say I suspect the mind reading probably wouldn't work because she's an idea, not a person.

#1: Sure, if Joshua can interpret a Reploid's memory chip/bank (We'll assume for sake of possibility that it can happen). There are a LOT of corrupted or simply locked-off sections however; he was researched on by scientists and the laboratory he was housed in was in severe disrepair when Ciel found him. There is a lot that Zero himself doesn't easily remember, suffering from some form of amnesia due to data loss or mismanagement.
#2: Assuming Joshua can trust in any of it (This is digital memory, after all), at the bare minimum the entire story of MMZ1 and his knowledge of its characters can be infomodded, along with the prologue of MMZ2. If Joshua can break through the harder data issues, the ultimate maximum is all of Zero's past in the Mega Man X canon, his dreams of Dr. Wily included as well as the death of Iris, along with the Elf Wars in their entirety.
In particular, Zero is currently suffering from a severe case of self-doubt, though he isn't one to show for it in front of others. He's questioning his not being able to remember his past and is unsure of himself despite being tasked by X to continue fighting for peace, feeling that he was sealed away for some reason and he is struggling after a year on the job while X has been at this for decades to centuries. He lives for the fight in the name of duty, but can't help but feel that there's something lurking behind that notion, bothered by his feelings of boredom despite being given purpose.

At this point in time, this feeling is compounded with a forced detachment from society on his part. Knowing that Ciel is of The Seven but is in good hands, he has directed his services towards fighting against the 13th Hour. However, he feels greatly responsible for the Neo Arcadian robots to have appeared in the city, them having greatly injured one Yukiko Amagi in the process.
After the Taurus Event, his seclusion will be even greater than before due to his disgust at himself for having made an effective fool of himself, brainwashed into not only halting his involvement in the 13th Hour but attacking others in the process, as well as knowing that Ciel has likely read the message he posted on the Networks a few days prior.

If we're talking figuratively speaking, he's pretty human-like. If we're talking physically though...
The easiest way I can address that is by mentioning the Cyber-Elves: They're computer code that exists without a body, more or less, and they're also what Reploids turn into after they die. In that sense. he does have a soul.
So, in the strict, traditional sense of the word, however, no, I don't think he does. But he has enough of one to pass for it, if that makes sense.
